You first have to get the old saddle from capturing cows in Rock Ridge, then you go back to the very first place you went to, Dusty Gulch. You have to go to the bartering store and trade with the man to get the gold pan. You now can trade it back to him and he will tell you that all he has that is worth the gold pan is the oil can. Two signs will pop up asking you if you want to trade for the oil can or the old saddle. Click on the one that says, I WANT TO TRADE FOR THE OIL CAN. -Katie
